Bill Ferguson, your local Osteopath and Acupuncturist in Tenterden
As long as you are still breathing I believe you can benefit from osteopathy
Osteopathy is all about restoring or improving your movement and function. It can be as gentle as the featherlight touch of cranial osteopathy at one extreme, to deep tissue manipulation at the other extreme, always with your informed consent.
As a general rule if you are fed up with taking painkillers, it is worth giving me a call. I can probably do something to help, and if I can't I will say so. Osteopaths don't just treat back problems. I treat a lot of people who have frozen shoulders, trapped nerves, headaches and migraines. I treat knees, hips, feet and ankles. I could go on and on. It might be quicker to say what I don’t treat!
Maintenance
Think about having a maintenance treatment at regular intervals. Anything from monthly to twice a year. Having a "loosen up" is a good idea, a bit like servicing your car it works out cheaper in the long run than waiting for a breakdown. And you only get one body, it pays to look after it.
How long are appointments
Your first appointment will be about one hour, which is longer than a normal treatment appointment so that I have time to discuss your symptoms and your medical history with you. I might also have to undertake muscle and joint testing in some areas and do a postural assessment. Subsequent appointments are normally about half an hour.
How many treatments
The number of treatments will vary depending on your condition, how long you have had your problem and how well you respond to treatment. I can offer you several kinds of treatment such as massage, ultrasound, acupuncture, electrotherapy, manipulation and physical therapy.
Regulation of osteopaths
All osteopaths have to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council. I am also a member of the British Osteopathic Association, and a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society. I have been working in Tenterden as an Osteopath since 1989.
How much does treatment cost
First appointment £72
Subsequent treatments £42
BUPA and PPP registered
