Organic Farm
Silcocks Farm occupies about 700 acres of ample fields and woodland and has two nature reserves located within the farm. Silcocks is famous for organic meat and dairy and operates within a 30 mile radius. David and Juliet Fenton, the owners, are prominent beef livestock breeders who have been growing and promoting this wholesome produce for decades. ‘All the goodness is in the cream’, keeps saying Juliet.
Beef, pork and lamb
Silcocks’ tender meat - beef, pork, and lamb - emanates from rare breeds born and reared naturally on the farm. The animals grow outside where they graze peacefully which adds greatly to the qualities of the meat that is prepared in the Farm Butchery. Silcocks is particularly proud of its very own rose veal which is not easy to come by locally. Indulge yourself with a range of hand-prepared pre-cooked dishes from Silcocks’ freezer created by Jason, the farm’s chef.
Milk, cream, ice-cream and cheese
Alongside milk and cream, Silcocks dairy specialises in exquisite soft cheeses and also offers an impressive list of homemade ice-creams of which cinnamon, champagne and gooseberry are especially popular.
Local produce
Silcocks also keeps bees and offers honey. Game is available when in season. The farm cooperates with renowned local producers such as Morghew farm whose famous exotic potatoes can be purchased in Silcocks shop.
Woodland products - logs, fence posts and more
The Silcocks team offer a number of coppice products from their managed woodland, namely: logs, fence and fence pots, bean poles, pea sticks; they are probably the only farm shop in the area, which sells charcoal.
Events - corporate and family
Silcocks offers its character premises for corporate and family functions with sit-down facilities for up to 50 people. However, sometimes there are 200-300 guests at Silcocks’ barbeques and other buffet functions. Families are welcome to tour the farm to see adorable calves, lambs and piglets
Lunches, cream teas ...
Silcocks also host events and are open throughout the calendar year which in itself is very impressive. Highly acclaimed Saturday Lunches always surprise guests with modestly priced succulent food. Spring and summertime cream teas, quintessentially English, usually start in April and progress throughout the summer months.
