"Drawing immense inspiration from my own garden here in Tenterden, I allow myself to experiment with the processes of bringing light and life into my glass and wood objects. It continues to intrigue me how glass will succeed to seduce the eye with its lustre and depth, both of which contribute to the magic of the outcome. My ideas are well thought out and the work is planned, but that moment of surprise arrives at the final outcome, when working with glass. The materials I use are a combination of recycled glass, plain glass and crystal, as well as coloured glass, enamel paints and glass paints. Working with wood is a much more straight forward process, giving me a wide range of creative techniques to work with, which I also enjoy with a passion.” Commissions available.

The intersection of the physical process and the final product involves a leap of faith, a willing surrender to the mysteries of the creative process. The outcome is planned, but I love the surprises and the bubbling energy that bring focus as I move through the set of techniques that metal smiths have been using for thousands of years. I love making hard metal look like soft fabric.
I use both ancient and contemporary techniques to create the precious metal fabric that later becomes jewellery. Torches, hammers, chasing tools, and a hammering block and looms are the implements that help me form metal sheet and wire into silky material. Seemingly random, this process is very deliberate, as I heat, fold, hammer, sand, file, weave and buff metal into silky textures.

I joined the group in 2010. My main work is paintings in a colourful contemporary style. The mediums I use are Gouache and Acrylic. I also work in stained glass, forming it into Mosaics and Hangings. Again I use bright colours and modern forms.
