Weddings
The Mayor's Parlour, in the historic 18th Century Town Hall, is a plush room with an intimate atmosphere for your marriage ceremony. It is able to accommodate the Bride and Groom and up to 44 wedding guests with 20 stylish oak armchairs for those guests wishing to sit down.
Silk flower arrangements will be provided in the marriage room should you choose not to provide your own floral arrangements. Equipment is available for playing your CDs or cassettes during the service and they must be secular only.
A video camera may be used in the marriage room and guests will be given the opportunity to take photographs after the ceremony.
The Assembly Room can also be hired for your wedding however it is only the Mayor's Parlour that is licensed for the actual marriage ceremony. The Assembly Room is a beautiful hall with a stage and also has a lovely balcony overlooking the High Street. It is a very useful area for guests to have a glass of champagne to toast the bride and groom. The Assembly Room seats 100 people at tables, or 150 people standing at a buffet style reception.
